We are hiring a Senior Research Technician to work on the wastewater surveillance project if you know of anyone that might be interested.

Is there a name for FLiRT +572I yet? FLiRTI? iFLiRT?

The most prevalent one is currently KZ.1.1.1 from Australia. My money would be on that one making a run, but it will probably soon have lots of equivalent cousins.

Wastewater sequencing is so much more interesting at ‘low tide’. That’s when you see what is still around at low levels.

Wastewater folks. Has anyone used a concentration method like in this paper? MgCl precipitation onto mixed cellulose ester membrane.

Might try, their data looks really clean (low rRNA) but I feel their methods must be missing a concentration step.
