Today at UMN, we had the privilege of hearing an incredible talk by Dr. Mark George From precision brain stimulation to “brain stimulation in the sky”—truly mind-blowing insights. Huge thanks to Dr. for making this amazing opportunity possible! @UMN_Psychiatry

I need people to understand how difficult it is to get an NIH grant. You spend months writing a proposal, following strict guidelines that include a detailed multiyear budget, bios of everyone on your team, plans for participant safety & ethical conduct. Then you send it off -1/n

I am proud to share this new review on The Biology of Addiction that appeared today in Science Signaling. It was fun to write the review all by myself and reflect on the tremendous progress achieved over the past three decades...

🚨 Our paper is out in Neuropsychopharmacology! 🧠⚡ Personalizing brain stimulation isn't 1D — it's 4D: Context, Target, Timing, Dose. Honored to collaborate with Colleen Hanlon , Michael Nitsche, Opitz Lab , Kelvin Lim, & with Hamed Ekhtiari 's guidance. 🙌 🔗nature.com/articles/s4138…

New results! Working memory is read out via a theta (3-6 Hz) traveling wave sweeping across cortex. Working memory readout varies with frontal theta rhythms biorxiv.org/content/10.110… #neuroscience

Today, NIH announced a new initiative to expand innovative, human-based science while reducing the use of animals in research. This aligns with U.S. FDA’s initiative to reduce testing in animals. bit.ly/4jYd4T2

Nice review / meta-analysis but a misleading headline. TMS plus symptom provocation was NOT significantly better than TMS alone for either OCD or nicotine dependence. Remains an important but unanswered question.

Many thanks to Society for Neuroscience (SfN) for awarding me a Trainee Professional Development Award! 🎉 I’ll attend my first SfN this year and present our closed-loop concurrent tES-fMRI randomized trial led by Hamed Ekhtiari If you're attending and would like to connect, DM me, I'd love to chat!
