Some payment dates will change due to the May Bank Holiday.

If you are due to be paid on Monday 6 May 2024 you will now be paid on Friday 3 May 2024.

Other payment dates are the same.

Young people who get qualifying benefits and are starting a job after a period of unemployment may be eligible for Job Start Payment.

Eligible people can use their Best Start Foods cards in shops that sell the healthy foods listed on the card and display the Mastercard logo.

People can also use a Best Start Foods card to buy healthy food online.

Best Start Foods can help with the costs of being pregnant as well as looking after a child.

People can apply as soon as they know they're pregnant and get financial help to buy healthy foods like milk or fruit during pregnancy.

Funeral Support Payment helps pay for funeral costs if you live in Scotland.

People can apply if they get certain tax credits or benefits and are responsible for paying for a funeral.

Pensioners in 5 local authorities will be the first in Scotland eligible for a new disability benefit, subject to parliament approval of regulations.

Pension Age Disability Payment will replace Attendance Allowance in Scotland from April 2025.
