Validating Lightning Signer (@vlsproject) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Runs hot wallet on your Lightning node: 🔥 “This is fine.” Node gets hacked, funds gone: 💀 “Why didn’t anyone tell me this was possible??” VLS: ✅ “Actually validates transactions before signing.” Run serious liquidity? Time to stop yoloing.

one view is “we can’t stop this, so let’s minimize impact” the other view is “let’s fight harder” the problem with fighting harder is you end up in a constant evolution battle that is costly and constrains your own actions as much as your rivals

Why network level filtering when you can do user-level filtering: threaten anybody with physical violence that doesn't agree with your personal definition of spam. I'm sure we'll get a flourishing society this way...

Gotta say, with all the op_return drama on X I have ample time to appreciate the infinistretch bug in ads (ad videos being continually stretched while in the viewport). Truly the weirdest one yet 🤣

Absolutely true, I don't think anyone is malicious, we're just approaching the problem from different points of view. People's livelihood being at stake raises the temperature significantly, which is totally understandable, but we need maintain an honest discussion.

Sometimes it's not about a proposal being bad or good, sometimes it's about the process to get there. Changing something even innocuous can sometimes be so disruptive that it just isn't worth it. Good engineers consider the path to getting there as much as the ultimate goal.

It's fascinating to see the theory of payment feasibility and the theoretical limits of payment network being improved before your very eyes 🤯

heres a simple example of how you can use both ctv+csfs to create a presigned transaction that can be used to spend any input! with a few extra tricks, this can be used for LN symmetry (eltoo) instead of ANYPREVOUT pretty cool 🥪🥞🪄 github.com/stutxo/simple_…

Libgen, Sci-Hub, and Z-library had millions of pirated academic books and papers. So, they were shut down. We shouldn't use them anyway. We should help billion-dollar academic publishers get richer. Anyway, here's how to access these libraries: Don't do this!
