Y’all I love my school and my research. Check this thread to learn more about my work Scripps Institution of Oceanography 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 #WomenInSTEM #deepseascience #marinebiology

The Ocean Ecology Lab and our partners at NOAA are looking for a quantitative postdoc to explore drivers of salmon marine survival (prey, predators, competitors, harvest, climate change) using structural equation models! Salary $57-60k. Please share! Deets: oceanecologylab.org/news/salmon-ma…

Ivan Moreno (Ivan J. Moreno, PhD), a PhD student in marine biology and freshwater ecologist, had never been exposed to SCUBA diving prior to Scripps. The program encouraged him to embark on scientific diving trips to assist in data collection and field exploration projects.

Toni Sleugh (Toni Sleugh, M.S. (she/her)), a PhD student in marine biology, applied to create a more inclusive environment for students who may feel the same intimidation she felt. She is excited that the program builds a community of divers of color with different experience levels.

Are you a UC San Diego student interested in obtaining your scientific diving certification? Applications for the 2023-24 SCUBA DIVERsity Fellowship program are due June 26, 2023. Apply here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

🌊Meet Toni Sleugh (Toni Sleugh, M.S. (she/her)), a Scripps Oceanography PhD candidate who studies marine biology in The Semmens Lab! She uses fish to investigate how historical offshore disposal of chemical waste impacts modern fisheries and the people who depend on them.

“While we may not be able to breathe underwater like fish can, we are all marine organisms. We depend on the ocean for food, for a healthy livable climate, and for fun and the ocean depends on us to be responsible and respectful stewards of its resources.” - Toni Sleugh, M.S. (she/her)

.Toni Sleugh, M.S. (she/her) recently caught up with 𝕁𝕠 𝕂𝕨𝕠𝕟 of Spectrum News 1 SoCal to share more about how she uses fish to study how contaminants move through the marine food web. Dive in here. ⬇️ spectrumnews1.com/ca/la-west/new…
