PART 1 Good Morning World! It came up in #rehearsal, my character is always embracing tress & birds and wild things. When I was in #elementaryschool, a woman came to Academy Street School to start the Junior Garden Club. This was an extension of The Garden Club of Madison, CT.

PART 2 That was over 50 years ago; the school is now closed and the Junior Garden Club has apparently morphed into other educational programming. We would arrange flowers during the club. These were my first lessons in how to carry color through a design.

PART 3 I'm sure they inform my skill as a #painter, #clothingdesigner and #setdesigner. The woman who ran the club, may she rest in peace, was kind, patient and praising, all things that were absent from my young life. She lifted me up. She was also my first mother figure.
