The next few days look cool and showery; windy at times. A narrow rainbelt spreading south overnight will bring in yet colder air with showers turning wintry over the high ground. More settled conditions are likely by the end of the week as high pressure builds in the west.

There'll be some warmth over the next couple of days, with daytime and nighttime temperatures above average. A high of 22C is possible in the South East tomorrow or Saturday, which would be the highest temperature of the year so far. Cooler for all by Sunday
