Thanks (to all) for your comments. YOUR enthusiasm and willingness to “tackle” issues confronting our profession inspire me!

The role and direct connection to classroom-based formative assessment (and feedback) should NEVER be an "after thought" in the related processes of planning and teaching mathematics. #CorwinTalks Jon Wray Beth Kobett NCTM Dylan Wiliam Erin Null

So important that the "starting line" as your anticipate a response to an observation is based on strengths you have observed and how they are leveraged to advance student learning (Formative 5 In Action, p. 35). #CorwinTalks Beth Kobett Jon Wray Erin Null Norberto Martins NCTM

Thanks, Marilyn. Love this comment. As we work to fully understand the importance & value of interviewing, we have also learned to value the importance of anticipation & patience. Anticipating what students may say/do AND ensuring the time & space for us to listen! #CorwinTalks

F. (Skip) Fennell Jon Wray Erin Null Yes! The hinge question is such a great way to get a quick pulse in student understanding that drives next steps for instruction! A well-crafted hinge question is worth its weight in gold! #corwintalks

They sure do! Math leaders (however defined - coach, specialist, supervisor, teacher leader) must have the opportunity to share ideas, accomplishments, frustrations and truly learn from each other.

F. (Skip) Fennell Beth Kobett Jon Wray Erin Null From 1981: mathematics teachers must be concerned with the logical, the social, and the psychological criteria of the elementary mathematics curriculum. The neglect of any of these criteria will shortchange our children's mathematics education. The challenge is a great one.
