In 2011 Jim Byrne wrote an article on Percy Ludgate for the Skibbereen Historical Journal. This volume is long sold out, but copies can be accessed in local libraries.
Following the visit to and talk yesterday at Skibbereen Heritage I brought the Celtic Bishops to Abbeystrewry old cemetery for a time of quiet reflection.

Headstone of Andrew Gallway, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Baton Rouge, today. From #Skibbereen , he was mortally wounded at Port Hudson in 1863. His brother Edward was the 2nd soldier (& 2nd Irishman) to die in the American Civil War, from wounds received at Fort Sumter in 1861.
This coming week the Muskerry Local History Society are holding a talk on Monday evening in #Ballincollig . On Wednesday the annual Cork Historical and Archaeological Society County Lecture takes place in #Bantry , this event is co-hosted by Bantry Historical Society.
