Help. Can anyone near #Wellington catch me an adult sized whitetail spider for a photo assignment I’m working on? Haven’t been able to find one anywhere. #CrowdsourceaCritter

Out at Wellington on a plate at Hei restaurant. Looking forward to this evening. The beginning cocktail was nice. The glass of bubbles I ordered afterwards was a very small pore for Huia $17 has put a dampener on the evening. #VisaWOAP

After we finished digitising our Irish vascular plants as part of the DigiHerb Interreg NWE funded project we decided to add some algae. This is the last specimen we digitised (Porphyrostromium ciliare). Nice symmetry in the barcode number DBN0073073! Well done everyone!

🩷On Wednesdays we wear pink, Have you ever seen a pink grasshopper? This unusual pink hue is the result of a genetic condition called erythrism. This condition causes an overproduction of red pigment, leading to a pink or reddish appearance. #Digitisation #Grasshopper #Erythrism

This is my all time favourite. The fur, velvet and his stubble. It’s in the Frick collection and I’ve been lucky enough to see it twice.

🦀🐛Meet Crabill’s centipede, the Critter of the Week! Crabill’s centipede (Craterostigmus crabilli) is a homebody who prefers the damp, humid corners of native forests. Being a soil-dweller comes with its quirks; they hate drying out, so they stick to nice moist hideouts –
