Thanks for showcasing our work. We used an “old” drug (theophylline) and repurposed it to treat ADCY5-related dyskinesia. It is available as slow-release drug, so it acts longer in the body. 💊 doi.org/10.1002/mds.... adcy5.org

Caffeine has been used to treat ADCY5-related dyskinesia. Caffeine and theophylline have similar structures. So we tried theophylline (originally used for asthma treatment) and saw impressive effects in children who started walking. 🧪💊
