The great talk by Fabrizio d'Adda di Fagagna at Cortona today reminded me about reading his seminal Nature paper published 20 years ago that made me apply to join the Steve Jackson Lab and set me on the path I am today with the Giunta Lab trying to follow on the footsteps of these giants! #grateful

RPE1 (human retinal pigment epithelial cells) are widely used as a research model to understand what normal (non-cancerous) cells do. Having a complete diploid genome will allow for deep exploration of gene structure, function, and epigenetic regulation. Bravo!

New preprint from the lab led my talented postdoc Isabel Wassing! She discovered that CDCA7's unique zf-4CXXC_R1 domain acts as a novel hemi-methylated DNA binding module to recruit the nucleosome remodeler HELLS and help DNA methylation! Check out her tutorial!
