It’s very very hard to figure out the true story. I’ll get to that as we can maybe get cctv footage etc. The poor locals when out go their way to get help, brought me into their private area and had clearly been trying to help the dog. They were all out and genuinely worried

We got Mario fully checked up, pain relief, tests done and he was sedated so he’s very calm now. He’s an incredible gentle soul.

The good news is it’s all fixable. The swelling and blood etc will be fixed then I’ll get his $1000 leg operation done locally. He’ll recover (6/8)

Unfortunately Mario’s leg has indeed been shattered. The vet says a recent enough injury. I know the little wooden splint wouldn’t have done much but the thought and love of that with people who have so little gives me so much hope in this story (5/8)

Once we got Mario to the vets we could see his eyes are bloodshot (possible blows to the head) and he has very severe bruising all over. It could easily be a road traffic accident if I hadn’t heard about the beating. It is often hard to know what’s true (4/8)

The messages I got where they the dog had been attacked by 2 drunk men and slashed. You can see the kind locals had even tried to DIY hold his leg in place with a wooden splint. Information in this cases can be thin on the ground. Mainly out of fear of reprisals (3/8)

I’d been contacted by 3 different people. The locals had desperately been trying to get help. They were quoted 7000 baht or about $200 to fix the dog. That’s close to a months wages so impossible for a street dog. They’d kept him safe… (2/8)

This little street dog desperately needed help today. He’s in a bad way but luckily he had some very kind locals looking out for him.

It’s a story that starts sad but which is already turning hopeful.
