It's been more than a year since layoffs at Sightline's Military Times/Defense News publications. It is well past time for current and former employees to be heard at the negotiating table.

The owners of Sightline Media destroying two important and profitable defense journalism publications simply because those owners are too selfish to give their workers improved wages and benefits is something the defense establishment simply isn't talking about enough.

Our union sends support and solidarity to our friends and colleagues at Military.com News Guild. Military.com's new owners gutted the newsroom (some journalists were fired without any severance) and we are outraged for them. We condemn this flagrant union busting; it won't be forgotten.

We stand with our brothers and sisters at Military.com News Guild and Sightline Media Union under attack by union-busting management. Owners of these institutions of D.C. defense journalism should be respecting these hardworking men and women, not degrading their work and livelihoods. ✊
