6. The bar for unseating an MP is (rightly) extremely high. It requires three different courts to find them guilty: the Privileges Committee; the House of Commons; & their constituents. To call this a "kangaroo court" is to trash a process that needs - & deserves - public trust

The obvious riposte to this is that: (1) the committee found unanimously against Johnson. This was no more Harriet Harman's decision than Bernard Jenkin's. (2) It would have been for the people of Uxbridge to decide whether Johnson sat in Parliament. He chose not to face them.
