Building Resilience Through Women’s Savings Groups As part of the Empowering Women to Build Resilient Communities project, Legal Awareness for Nigerian Women (LANW) on the 1st of July, 2025 facilitated

the training and establishment of a Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) for women in Kidandan, Giwa LGA. Objectives: - Strengthen women’s capacity for resource mobilization - Improve household livelihoods

- Enhance financial inclusion and access to basic financial services Overview: The VSLA model is a community-led initiative where women meet regularly to save collectively and access low-interest loans.

Kidandan Women Peace Ambassadors Engage Giwa Local Government (LGA) Health Secretary and Education Secretaries. As a result of training and mentoring from Legal Awareness for Nigerian Women, Women Peace Ambassadors in Kidandan community

Their efforts paid off with commitments from the stakeholders to look into all issues submitted. These include consideration for members of the community who volunteer in schools and clinic during the LGA recruitment, more teachers

and health personel will be sent to the community now that peace has been restored to the community and its environs, other supplies required by the facilities will be met.
