The staggering irony of someone transporting a single person in a massive SUV that occupies 10m² of road space telling someone on a bicycle that occupies 1.5m² of road space that they're hogging the road

A car dock with all cars docked in the middle of Manhattan at 12:30 PM on a amazing day. Tell me how this isn’t a waste of space and money.

"Sometimes, a shop owner claims his business was ruined because the city removed 4 parking spaces. With surveys, our mayor can say: ‘6,000 more people pass your shop a day thanks to a new bike lane. Are you sure you’re a good businessman?’” — Jan Gehl in #Straphanger #Copenhagen

In cities, there's an inverse relationship between driveability + livability. If you find it hard to drive in a neighborhood (because of bikes, kids, pedestrians), that should be your sign to get out of the car + explore. (Better yet, don't arrive by car!) 🖌️by bikeyface
