Another day, another shoplifter charged and remanded for court tomorrow after stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from various stores on Sears Retail Park. Fingers crossed for Christmas behind bars for the culprit.

Shirley officers and Sgt Vince were out of foot patrol today at Park Gate visiting local shops to deter shop theft. Staff were given advice on reporting incidents. Our team are committed to ensuring prolific offenders are locked up for Christmas.

2026 has not started well for 2 prolific offenders. Shirley officers have charged them with 13 offences between them and a date with the judge awaits in the morning. The team continue as they left 2025 with a continued drive to protect businesses in the area.

Community meeting with STREET WATCH volunteers, with residents from Ukraine who shared experiences and different cultures with us. Lovely friendly people who want to learn our language and engage with other residents in the Community.

Shirley Street Watch have collected a food donation from Tesco 1505 Stratford Road, which was donated to all the lovely residents of Sunflower House Shirley. The residents were very grateful and could not stop smiling ! Thank you Theresa you are a star !

Sorry to say that the Community meeting which was due to be held tonight 29th January at 1800, at Shirley Library has been cancelled. I believe this is due to staffing issues forcing the Library to close early.

Shirley officers were joined on patrol by Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst today to talk with members of the community and retail staff around local concerns and issues impacting them. Whilst on patrol 2 shoplifters were detained after a foot chase and outcomes pending.

Yesterday, thanks to the support and information from the community and ongoing concerns, Shirley officers supported Trading Standards in an Operation around illegal and counterfeit goods at a shop on Stratford Road. Goods estimated at £35k were seized. Closure order submitted.

While on patrol with Street watch volunteers today, we have encountered a large group causing Anti social behaviour around Parkgate Shirley. Additional resources have attended and dealt with the disorder. Two youths were taken home by police. A big ' Thank you' to you all !
