Final legislation has passed in Parliament sealing a new right for two million employees with unpaid caring responsibilities to take up to five days of Carer’s Leave.

Starting from 6 April 2024, employees with a dependant will be entitled to unpaid leave to give or arrange care. This creates a new right for two million employees with unpaid caring responsibilities.
