I haven’t done any school work this weekend. None. I helped coach some NBCT’s yesterday but I’ve done no grading, no planning, no work. I’ve got to find that work, home, mom, wife, teacher, balance. I can’t always put my family last! #familytime #selfcare

Its going to be a long day. I know some students are scared, I’m worried about them too. Today we will give out what we were told to. We will read and talk. We will be silly and have discussions on why we will not be here. We will hug. We will have “normal” for today.

For the first time in almost 20 years I left my classroom, my building, my work family today and I have no idea when I will see them again.

Schools closed for the rest of the year. I’m so heartbroken. I’m so worried about my students, their welfare, everything. I’m so sad for my own first grader. It’s the right thing to do but that doesn’t make it easy.
