Celebrating the first day of the new school year eating grapes off the vine from our garden! Here’s to a great year full learning, laughter, and friendships!

Day 2: Students received a bag of bricks to build something that represents them. They were thoughtful in their builds. For example, a dog to show playfulness, a bridge to show support for friends, and a gecko to show their chillness. Looking forward to what this group does next!

This is community! Today I had a parent and her oldest son volunteer for almost 5 hours cleaning and pulling weeds in one of our three school gardens. We are truly blessed to have amazing parents! (Before and after photos)

Students explored what it means to be an engineer at the AFRL NM STEM Academy. Students had to engineer a way to get Egg-Bert to land safely on the moon, weighed objects determining composition, & explored 3 layers of a spaceship virtually finding items. What a great day! Lavaland Elementary
