Great to join the APPG for Dyslexia and SpLd meeting on reforming assessment in Secondary Education chaired by Sharon Hodgson MP
A key takeaway for me was the need to make assessments accessible and inclusive to improve young people's wellbeing, attainment and life chances.
And thank you to The Disability Policy Centre, Disability Rights UK, Elect Her and Women Count for facilitating both sessions!
It was a pleasure chairing these roundtables on what disabled women want to see in the Government's Disability Action Plan.
We were joined by speakers, Dr Sarabajaya Kumar and Fazilet Hadi, and had excellent contributions from the women joining on the day.
Delighted to host West Midlands Combined Authority and The Disability Policy Centre as they share initial results of the report into seeking to ‘Make the West Midlands an Exemplar Region for Disabled People’, with Dr Shani Dhanda chairing the panel discussion. Great that National Centre for Accessible Transport is a key partner here already
I'm looking forward to presenting early findings from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Assistive Tech's report on tech use in #SupportedEmployment TechAbility 2023 alongside a great set of speakers from the AT, academia and disability worlds, including the impressive Professor Annalu Walker Annalu Waller!
