The Economist reports: "China is ditching the dollar, fast". Over 30% of China’s trade in goods & services is now done in its own currency, RMB. China settles over 50% of its total cross-border receipts (including financial flows) in yuan, up from less than 1% in 2010. Link:

#WolffBites: Desperate inequality: richest 10% now do half of total US consumer spending.  No wonder the other 90% are increasingly upset and angry.

Mainstream economics likes to come up with cute new names—- “Covid crisis”, “subprime lending crisis”, “Dot Com Bubble”—- to mislead us into believing that there is something “unique” about every crisis instead of focusing on the commonality: a terminal sickness of the system.

One has to be really ignorant to have failed to understand the difference between a piece of writing that is meant for PUBLICATION, versus a set of “manuscripts” (the title should’ve been your hint?) or self explanatory NOTES that were NOT intended for pub.

Marx’s point wasn’t “bad math”. If a worker needs 6 hours labour to reproduce their daily needs, but works 12, the first 6 are necessary labour (covering their wage), the rest is surplus labour—unpaid, yet producing value pocketed by capital.

Marx’ın hiçbir kitabında kalkülüs yoktur. O adamın laf ettiği, Marx’ın kendi başına kalkülüs çalışırken aldığı notlar. Adam, helal olsun Marx’a, merak edip kalkülüs de çalışmış diyeceğine, limiti anlamıyor demiş. Kalkülüsün iktisat kitaplarına girmesi, Marx ölene doğru,

All of these concepts are clearly important, but is it necessary to call them all Capital? I feel the term was more useful when it referred to something specific

Mainstream economists claim: 1️⃣ “Our field has improved. it’s realistic now, not just mathy.” 2️⃣ “Your critiques are old & obsolete.” Reality (AER 2025): •Assumes infinitely-lived workers utility-maximizing workers! •Utility = welfare = consumption •A priori modelling

Beautiful. The market is achieving a state of perfect efficiency, just as my graduate micro textbook promised. What could be more efficient than concentrating all value in a handful of firms? A true triumph of rational actors and perfect competition.
