Today marks 40 days since the death of Mahsa Amini. As the people of Iran and others around the world gather, I want to be clear: We stand with you. We hear your calls to action. And we’ll continue to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its abhorrent and heinous behaviour.

Following the women foreign ministers meeting last week, Canada along with 11 other nations have issued a joint statement on the situation in Iran. Our message is clear: Women’s rights are human rights. We salute the courage of the Iranian women. We hear you. We are with you.
