Actually alcohol, even 14 units per week, is an independent cancer risk

We should be advocating putting no toxic substances into our bodies

But we deluded ourselves in societies where alcohol is a socially acceptable drug and that extends to the medical profession

I watched this on catch up last night

It was a truly harrowing watch for several reasons

I lived in Clapham for many years and have walked all her steps

And the willful ignorance from the Met about his previous crimes - was mind blowing

RIP Sarah

My thoughts after reading this:

1. Elective surgery needs workforce, not just beds
2. How will the private sector interact with this?
3. Where is the lifeline for in NHS Bristol, N Somerset & S Gloucestershire ICB which is seeing the dual hit of an appalling imposed contract and local funding losses?

My perspective on AAs; a 🧵

I was an ANP before medical school and am now a specialty doctor in anaesthetics.

I work with 2 qualified AAs who are excellent,

I am often asked for my opinion given my background, so here it is a long thread including my own story.

Meanwhile... in the refugee camps of & the world will be celebrated only thanks to the heroism of those storytellers who have survived.

And managed to keep to keep their books & stories in tact.

God bless every one of them.

I note that NHS England is not tagged in any of your tweets and they must be laughing

How convenient for them to have GPs as the fall guy for trans issues

It's their appalling lack of a funded commissioned service which is leading to these disparities of care

A word of caution here, folks:

👉1.9% = a disgrace
👉to match 2019/20 we need 8.7% putting this derisory offer into context
👉 for salariedGPs ~ c£450m
👉Total practice income/patient has ⬆️ by only £15 in a decade -
Yes! *£15*

Nice words won’t save General Practice

Aside from the ridiculous notion that GPs workload is simple (!) there is also the accusation that doctors are the reason for allied health professionals being so risk averse

I mean...WTAF?

WHO IS THIS MAN?

I can’t stop worrying about this! I don’t know how we are going to cope if this is the case!
I’ve just written to the 4 MPs covering our area… please we have to do something, I can’t see how we will balance the books next year if it continues to go this way!

Why do people feel the need to comment on your weight?

From the age of 18 until now I have been a size 6. Recently there's a bit of post menopausal fat redistributed

Yet EVERY single time people see me after a while they ask if I have lost weight

NO! NOW STFU!
