On Chamber Music Day, our groups had workshops with professionals from our team of Visiting Music Teachers. We're lucky to have such outstanding musicians guiding our students. Looking forward to the Chamber Music Platform Concerts after half term! 🎻🌟👏

The Cayman Arts Festival Festival runs from 6-15 February and was founded by Old Sennockian and pianist Glen Inanga who also used to teach at Sevenoaks. The Sacconi Quartet will also be performing in the festival with Old Sennockian Hannah Dawson and Sevenoaks music teacher Robin Ashwell.

Last week the students performed in the music showcase titled 'Take a Chance!', organised by Mr Wey. They played a variety of experimental pieces. At break time, Musicians filled The Space with sound as they performed John Cage's Musicircus. Well done to everyone who performed!👏

Last week our choirs gave some astounding performances in the Choral Music at Sevenoaks concert. 🌟👏 Sennocke Consort were brilliantly led by Eve and Alex, and Choral Society were accompanied by five very talented student organists. Huge congratulations to everyone involved! 🎶

Yesterday the Sixth Form enjoyed a trip to Ronnie Scott's to see the fantastic Bill Evans and his band. 🎷 We heard some amazing jazz music played by outstanding musicians, and the students came away feeling inspired - some of them even got to meet the man himself! 🎵💫

The Orchestral Music at Sevenoaks concert showcased our fantastic classical ensembles. 🎻 The evening included performances from the Wind Band, Symphony Orchestra and Flute Quartet. Sixth Form students Eve and Paul conducted the Chamber Orchestra. Well done to all involved! 👏🌟

We are thrilled to share that Charlene (U6) has received an offer of a Choral Scholarship from the University of Cambridge! Charlene has been an outstanding member of the music department during her time at Sevenoaks School and we are so proud of her. 👏🎶💫

Evan (L6) was one of few local young musicians selected for the Glyndebourne Youth Orchestra to play in the world premiere of Uprising, a new opera by Jonathan Dove. He rehearsed and performed alongside the professional players of the Glyndebourne Sinfonia. Well done, Evan!👏🎶

Yesterday our students performed in a lunchtime concert at Southwark Cathedral. Hugh, Lia, Blanche and Eve were accompanied by Mr Wey in a varied programme of classical repertoire. This included works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Henriette Bosmans and Lili Boulanger.👏🎻

Marking the end of his time at Sevenoaks, Alfie (U6) performed an organ and saxophone recital at the King's Chapel of the Savoy.🎷🎵 Alfie has been an excellent all-rounder in the music department and we are very excited to see where his music career takes him in the future.🌟
