When you say "maybe," you're implying it's a possible option. This is terrible advice. I don't think anyone would have a problem with the scene if "maybe" was replaced with "no, you're not supposed to let them die," then he proceeds from there. A similar but better exchange:

It's kinda wild how history repeats itself. Both of these were praised upon release for being the best Batman movie that's the truest to the character. Yet as their directors go on to continue their vision people turn on them for doing their own thing rather than doing the comics

Why does he have to have the same struggles 10 years into his career? You're saying Spider-Man can't be compelling if he evolves and grows. That's boring.

This is entirely correct. Writing matters more than putting in Batman lore just because "it's cool." Matt Reeves' Batman isn't suddenly lesser just because he doesn't have Clayface or Man-Bat in it. Because again, the writing comes first for a story.

the shining is highly regarded as one of if not the best horror movie ever made even tho king himself considers it a bad adaptation because its a fucking great movie same applies to the dark knight 👍

I think the only thing you can knock Batman Begins for is the ending where he doesn't save Ra's. Otherwise, it delivers on just about every level for Bruce's character writing.
