Paper of the week: our new lab paper in @Psychopharm led by Jonathan Chow & @Kayla_Pitts describing an operant negative reinforcement procedure in opioid-dependent rats. The procedure is based on early non-human primate studies in the 1970s pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38642101/

We are excited to share Kim Thibeault's paper Biological Psychiatry. We show that repeated cocaine exposure decreases the number of cocaine-activated neurons in the nucleus accumbens. This smaller ensemble of neurons controls behavior more robustly. doi.org/10.1016/j.biop… A thread:
