Super policy piece on what next to tackle workload ā€˜Teachers said that workload pressures are being exacerbated by an increase in behavioural incidents and a decline in external support services available to schools (especially for pupils with SEND)’ šŸ‘‡

I will say it again and again. Teachers need more non contact time, that means more funding and also more teachers. Until this is addressed there will be little impact in the current system on workload beyond tinkering at the edges.

I don't allow homophobic remarks in my classroom. I don't allow transphobic remarks in my classroom. I don't allow racist, anti-Semitic or Islamaphobic remarks either. Be pissed off. Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence.

Retweeting because this is actually an exchange that I have heard from my students many times over. Most just giggle and move on. I am starting to notice the tone shift, however. It’s starting to sink in.

This is a gold mine! She just needs to create a 100-slide PowerPoint PD using anecdotes and pie graphs to prove the acronym's efficacy, a couple hours of icebreakers and breakout sessions, and she'll earn more in one day as an ed. consultant than an entire month as a teacher.

Heyo! I’m back again with an almost daily reminder that English is ~wack~. Most of us simply don’t remember LEARNING it and underestimate its difficulty.
