I attended the 2nd annual MLK Jr. Unity Brunch, hosted by Alliance for Civic Engagement - Bolingbrook. During the program, several people were recognized for going above and beyond in the community - Congrats to all award winners! I'm grateful to have been part of the day!

Today I was able to sit down with Will County Farm Bureau members to discuss initiatives and hear suggestions regarding the farming industry in the District. Thank you to State Rep. Natalie Manley for coordinating and to all of the farm bureau members for coming to give input!

I had the best time at Shorewood Hugs Chocolate Ball! They are a local women's organization that gives back to those in the community by hosting unique events & raising funds to fulfill wishes for those in need. To date, we have fulfilled over 1,300 wishes.

The Greater Joliet Area YMCA Gala never disappoints! Funds raised benefit the Y’s scholarship assistance program, which helps to ensure that no one is turned away from the YMCA due to the inability to pay. I love supporting this gala and our local YMCA's!

Senate Bill 1740 passed the Senate today which initiates the reduction of unnecessary school code mandates agreed upon by statewide educational stakeholders. I'm very proud of the work Senator Edly-Allen and I put into this legislation! More here: tinyurl.com/SB1740
