Admission to national parks is FREE today in celebration of the National Park Service’s founding 108 years ago! California has many beautiful national parks – the most of any state in the nation!

#CaliforniaFarmworkerDay celebrates the workers that support our state’s agricultural industry and put food on tables across the nation. These workers deserve safe working conditions, fair wages, and the ability to unionize!

#SB1342 has passed the Assembly! Thank you to my Assembly colleagues for supporting this bill, which would streamline two energy and water projects in the #SanDiego region.

My heart goes out to the family and loved ones of San Diego Police Department Officer Austin Machitar, who was killed in the line of duty, and his partner, who was seriously injured. These young officers put themselves at risk to protect our community, and have paid the ultimate price.

Today marks the anniversary of the #MarchOnWashington. As our nation continues to grapple with the history of racism and we work to build a more equitable future, I’m reflecting on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s powerful and inspiring words in his “I Have a Dream” speech.

Thank you to my colleagues in the Assembly for passing my #SB1213! SB 1213 would expand access to breast and cervical cancer screenings and treatment – a key part of our efforts to detect and treat cancer early, which reduces cancer deaths.

It was an honor to sign a beam for the Capitol Annex Project – a transformational change that will ensure Legislators and staff have a safe, healthy workplace at the Capitol.

As the 2023-24 session comes to an end, I’m reflecting on my 14 years in the #CALeg – full of policy victories, tough negotiations on challenging issues, and a deep respect for this institution and my colleagues. Though our legislative session has ended, the work continues!

With my OG crew: Toni G. Atkins Steven Bradford and I have been in the #Caleg trenches together for 12 years, and we've each served a total of 14 years. We made Good Trouble, a legacy to be proud of.

#LaborDay honors the workers that built our nation from the ground up and keep our economy running. It also honors unions, which fight for safer workplaces, higher wages, and better benefits. I stand with workers and unions  in strong support of #WorkersRights!

September is #FirefighterAppreciationMonth! These heroes face great risks to protect our communities, particularly as the fire season gets longer and more intense, and wildfires become larger and more dangerous. We owe firefighters a true debt of gratitude.

#ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth brings attention to the devastating impacts of childhood cancer. We must continue developing better treatments and improving survivorship care so every child diagnosed with cancer can recover and live a long and healthy life.
