A true community event for all members of the community. Waterloo Region Police Services hosted their annual open house. Thousands of participants met our police, tried many activities and had a very fun day.

The Senate hosts cultural and parliamentary exchanges that include historic artifacts. In Japan, May 5 is Children’s Day. This display in our senate of miniature Japanese armour & kabuto (helmets) celebrates the wish for happiness of children and for them to be strong and brave.

Today it was a privilege to meet and present the JHSS Mathletes  ALL GIRLS team with certificates from the Senate. They won first place at the University of Waterloo Math Competition. Congratulations!

Wonderful opportunity today to meet and speak with Jacob Hespeler SS students in Cambridge. This included an opportunity to speak with the two new school vice-presidents. They will make a great team in supporting student life.

Today we met with MS leaders and volunteers. Canada has the highest number of MS cases in the world, most between 20-49 and mostly women. Our work is to ensure treatments are covered under the new PharmaCare plan and that we get disability payments to those with MS.
