This week's #photofriday is a perfect example of how an image can convey the complexity of the work that we do here at Sellafield Completing the roof slab on SRP required 12 weeks of work, over 2,700 cubic metres of concrete to be poured and pumped to heights up to 30 metres 👏

We were delighted to host John Fingleton, Nuclear Regulator Taskforce lead and colleagues to our site. The visitors heard how regulation of decommissioning nuclear sites in the UK, including Sellafield, is a large part of existing nuclear regulatory activity. #sellafield

We regularly fly drones around the Sellafield site for data collection but for some situations a helicopter is best for the job. The job was to capture a moment in time for our new site aerials.

It's not all about the external shots for our Throwback feature! This week, we're taking you inside one of our legacy facilities. Standing in the oldest part of the site, the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo has been storing nuclear waste for over 60 years. What year was this taken?

Isn't it amazing how a different angle can give us a whole new perspective? This impressive chimney towers above the rest on the site and is known as the SAV project, which began operating in 2016. Thank you to Thomas, a guest photographer, who captured this unique shot!
