I was raised in a home that celebrated achievement AND still pushed for greater gains. 85% on an exam wasn’t enough, I was often questioned about the remaining 15%. As leaders we cannot be comfortable with an 85% proficiency rate. There are real kids who make up the remaining 15%

Imagine being told that you have limitless potential only to have limits placed on you when you finally get a seat at their table. What's that called?

The privilege of leadership AND having a learner's posture are inextricably linked. You can't have one without the other.

I've never met anyone who outrightly said they had low expectations for adults & kids but, some of our systems sure do make that abundantly clear!

Growing up 80% wasn’t good enough. When did that become the widely accepted measure of success? As a parent of a child with special needs, my expectations will remain high. There are no limits to his potential AND 80% certainly isn’t the ceiling.

Radical thought– PD, by itself, won't fix our nation's schools.
