When President Biden took office in 2021, the overdose death rate was increasing 31% year-over-year.

Yesterday, we announced that drug overdose deaths fell 3% over the past year—the first decline in more than five years.

This new data confirms that our efforts are driving results.

I celebrated #NationalNursesWeek with a visit to LCH Health and Community Services in Kennett Square with HHS.gov Secretary Xavier Becerra. We toured the facility and attended a listening session with nurses, staff, and administrators on the Inflation Reduction Act and its many cost-saving provisions.

This Mother's Day, I'm thankful for my own mom, an immigrant from Mexico who taught me the power of belief, for my wife who works every day to keep other mothers safe as a high-risk OB-GYN, and for all the moms who have protected & nurtured their families.
