Been watching #Octonauts The Ring of Fire with #seaweed childofmine . Because the vegemals have a small #seaweed farm (more a seaweed garden, he says 'I want a seaweed farm, a small one' my heart 💙 I say that's what I'm working towards. At least I know I'll have a willing helper.

Currently questioning myself but I don't think there are any large tropical #kelp species. I think Ecklonia was found on the Galapagos. Is #Macrocystis & #Nereocystis subtropical in most southerly?

Having heard about the new Scottish Seaweed Growers association, would be a bit wary about joining and whether such a thing is needed.

Not really seaweed related apart from it is working related. I have listened to podcasts whilst on the seashore but at the desk need to listen to banging tunes. Current favourite is Electric Callboy . I will be listening to them on the seashore tomorrow #ravinlikeamaniac

For #phycologyfriday have an #Ulva mix and the detached recepticles from Ascophyllum nodosum #eggwrack . It's something to see so many broken off lying on the shore. Before they're too big & ripe worth picking & lightly pickling. So tasty in cider vinegar. #seashore

Yesterday evening #seashore walk was actually all about starting to map out the #dwarfeelgrass that grows in #CardrossBay . I have an idea of its extent here but as a community starting to monitor it will be good to add some more specific data. #seagrass
