At the gate in Paris - been here for 25 minutes and nobody has been allowed in - disgraceful treatment of fans who are displaying an unbelievable level of patience

Some of the most respected sports journaliss in the planet are watching outside in real time the ineptitude of organisers , bottlenecks , closed turnstiles. But Dave the Manc for absolute certain knows it's Liverpool fans "again".

#UCL Final delay: How it happened 👇 Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol is outside the Stade de France where "the situation has now calmed down."

#CLFINAL @LFCHELP @SPIRITOFSHANKLY MERPOL was deployed to this evenings match. Can only describe it as the worst European match I've ever worked or experienced. I thought the behaviour of the fans at the turnstiles was exemplary in shocking circumstances. You were not late 100%

It’s easy to do the ‘ah, the result didn’t matter once we experienced that beforehand’ when you lose but I felt absolutely dead throughout that 90 minutes. The look of panic on people’s faces, crushes, tear gas. Horrific. Absolutely disgusting and shame on anyone blaming fans.

Worst atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. Riot police indiscriminately tear gassing fans, including kids and my colleague. Fans literally locked in so had to climb 10ft gates to escape. Dozens of local thugs - one stole my phone - breaking into the stadium to cause trouble or steal

Have written about the chaos at the Stade de France. This a chronology of what happened, but also a look at the politics of policing in France, as well as pathetic football tribalism and the need for UEFA and the French authorities to be held to account. metro.co.uk/2022/05/29/uef…

I get rival fans revelling in the result last night & that’s fair game as no one likes to see a rival win, but the situation last night is about fans in general. We don’t need to score points off each other. A bit of solidarity wouldn’t go amiss.

Had to scan my ticket 5 times before I got a green light, thankfully the steward was patient, others not so lucky Do my other four failed scan attempts, with a legitimate ticket, count among this figure of 2,800?

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping" - Fred Rogers They were helpers. When those charged with their safety failed, they stepped up. Then they were smeared.
