Proper community policing is essential to keep communities safe. Should I be elected, this will be at the heart of my priorities.

Campaigning in Baldock East and Letchworth South West today. A beautiful day and a warm reception.

It can take several hours for Police to attend, meaning burglaries often go unsolved. I have seen first hand the significant impact these crimes have on victims. The government and Herts Conservative PCC are failing victims.

Liberal Democrat Cllrs make a real difference to communities. And in Herts, there is an excellent opportunity to elect your first Lib Dem PCC.

Local communities are worried sick about the impacts of rural crime, and to have just 1 in 1000 officers dedicated to tackling this serious issue is shocking.

No wonder so many cases are going unsolved and criminals are getting off the hook.

Out again today in Letchworth. Shame I forgot to take a photo until the end of the session, but another good reception on the doorsyeos. What a beautiful village Willian is, and the people were really friendly.

We need more community policing not less. This is essential in preventing and detecting crime. The choice to not fill PCSO posts this year was a backwards step. Should I be elected, I will fix this and ensure community and neighbourhood policing is prioritised.

Out today in Letchworth South West with the excellent candidate David Chalmers and team. Lots of support and unsurprisingly not a lot of love for the out of touch Conservatives. Only the Lib Dems can beat the tories here.

It was brilliant to be in Watford today campaigning. Lots of support for our excellent Lib Dem candidates. Ian will make a great MP.

It is completely unacceptable that the Conservative PCC for Herts has decided not to fill PCSO posts this year. This is a political choice. It doesn't have to be this way. I will prioritise community policing and ensure there are more Police on our streets.

It was excellent to be supporting the superb PPC for Hitchin Chris Lucas today. Lots of support out there! Also lots of discussions about crime and safety and the need for a more visible police presence in our communities.
