Grey seals only spend about 30% of their time hauled out on land On land they are cumbersome & vulnerable PLEASE STAY WELL AWAY FROM HAULED OUT SEALS c.70% of their lives are spent at sea To truly appreciate their behaviour they have to be observed & studied underwater.

Underwater seals are in control of any encounters BUT on land they are cumbersome & can easily feel vulnerable PLEASE STAY WELL AWAY FROM HAULED OUT SEALS ON THE LAND They are fascinating, gentle creatures but they are WILD animals with sharp teeth & powerful bites

Ben Burville Brilliant programme on the BBC 1 tonight. Lovely to see my soul home of Northumberland. Fascinating film of the seal behaviour, diving birds and the awful impact of marine pollution. Really worth catching on IPlayer, it’s called The Seal Whisperer. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Ben Burville BDMLR TynemouthSealHospital What a fabulous, informative programme Ben & team. Could watch this all day long, 30 mins of pure relaxation. Should be on prescription. Hope you can do a follow up. BBC. Terrible about the wildlife getting caught in debris though.
