Overnight a Scranton Police Officer was involved in a shooting. he Officer and suspect are being treated at a local trauma center. There is an active criminal investigation at this time. The Scranton Police Department will release additional information at the appropriate time.

In regards to the overnight shooting involving a Scranton Police Officer we want to address rumors circulating. There were no fatalities that occurred. As noted in the earlier press release both the Officer and suspect are receiving medical treatment at a local trauma center.
