John Paul Stevens reminds me of my 2004 interview with Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. This was among the first, if not the first, television interviews with a supreme court justice. She got mad when I asked about retirement. Maybe that’s why she stayed on til 2006. A great mind.

Nearly all the customer reviews for Truth Worth Telling are 5 star. But I just got a 3 star from a guy who said I wrote too much about my family. Sorry, pal, that’s probably the last thing I would change. ❤️

Wonderful trip to China with daughter Blair. We’re shooting a story for 60 Minutes on Panda conservation. You’ll be amazed! And, yes, they are as adorable as you imagine. 🐼 instagram.com/p/B1v6btrAMv6/…

Hats off (literally) to the choir that sang the national anthem so beautifully this morning at Indianapolis International Airport. And to the police and firefighters color guard. Those of us who were at the World Trade Center that day are deeply grateful.

I met my hero, war correspondent, Ernie Pyle, at Indiana University. I was there to help open the new Arnolt Center for Investigative Reporting. If you’re studying journalism, check out Pyle’s “The Death of Captain Waskow.” It’s all you need to know about combat reporting.

Thank you to the University of Central Florida for the opportunity to lecture to America’s next generation of journalists. There is no Democracy without journalism. After meeting these students, I know we’re in good hands.

I am so grateful to WKMG, our powerhouse CBS station in Orlando, for the opportunity to have a conversation with a newsroom full of dedicated journalists. WKMG’s commitment to public service is a beacon for others to follow. Lucky Orlando! Lucky CBS!

I’m grateful to our great CBS station KOTV in Tulsa for a warm reception and an opportunity to meet the great journalists in its newsroom. KOTV is an example of how public service reporting helps build great cities. Thanks to Brian Dorman for insightful questions.

Thanks to my friends at Cordillera Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. I’m grateful for such an enthusiastic reception for my book, Truth Worth Telling. It’s theme, Values Matter, really resonates in a place like this.

Launching the paperback of TWT today! I’m grateful for the 4.6 rating from Amazon reviewers. The hardback hit Amazon’s top 10 on the history/memoir list. There’s no Democracy without journalism!
