I just finished a careful reading of James Curtis’ book on Buster Keaton. It’s a masterpiece of biography - not show business biography - biography. The research and writing penetrate the strange, muted inner life and the transcendent accomplishments of Keaton. Bravo!

Just finished Charles Elton’s book about Michael Cimino, which is an extraordinarily good job on an extraordinarily difficult subject - a fantasist, a bullshit artist, a compulsive liar and, on occasion, a prodigiously gifted director. Bravo! ABRAMS Books
