Phew! Today was the first official day of the Scottish Tax Clinic! 🥳 Our student pairs all have at least one case now - some have more. And it is day 1. There is a real and unmet demand for free tax advice for those on a low income. #taxtwitter

A big well done to some of our Edinburgh Law School Scottish Tax Clinic students who managed to remove over £4,000 in HMRC late filing penalties for a client today! This will make a huge difference to the client and demonstrates the HUGE impact our students can have on our communities🌟

This week, students at Edinburgh Law School Scottish Tax Clinic have successfully appealed £9,800 (!!) of late filing penalties for some of our clients 🌟. The demand for our services continues; we are a small clinic. Low-income taxpayer support needs proper funding for the whole of the UK.
