We celebrated the annual @NYCTartanWeek parade - an event like no other where tens of thousands of people come together to celebrate their #ScottishConnections .

This year, actor Dougray Scott took on the role of Grand Marshal.

We were delighted to host some of our US alumni at our Tartan Week reception, where guests were welcomed by Cabinet Secretary Angus Robertson and enjoyed some fine Scottish food and drink.

On behalf of @ScotGov, Cabinet Secretary Angus Robertson laid a wreath at the memorial to abolitionist Frederick Douglass.

Douglass drew huge crowds when he toured in Scotland in 1846 to educate people on the slave trade.

The first phase of Scotland’s Migration Service has been launched.

Migration Minister Emma Roddick said the service will help migrants feel welcome and encourage them to stay for the long term, as well as supporting businesses.
