Our hockey teams enjoyed a great day in Foxrock in Dublin yesterday when they completed in the annual blitz on the east coast hosted by St Anne's. The girls were a credit to the school and their families. #YouCouldBringThemAnywhere .

Many thanks to Dr Paul O'Brien Mary Immaculate College (MIC) who brought our sixth class on an enthralling and engaging tour of the oldest streets in Limerick. He showed how history connects with sustainability & philosophy as we explored the importance and value of holding onto our past.

Junior Infants in Room 6 took advantage of the good weather to walk down to the Shannon Fields where they were lucky enough to see ducks and swans. 🦆 🦢

6th Class, Frost were not surprised to see Limerick GAA finish so strong on Sunday. They had a visit from Cairbre O Cairrealain- head of Strength & Conditioning with the Senior Hurling Team. He spoke about his journey to get to where he is today & what make a successful team.💚🤍

Every Monday and Tuesday our Infants get stuck in during indoor hurling with Brendan Guiry from Limerick GAA and Kevin Normoyle from our local Limerick club St Patrick's GAA. The future is bright and green.

Huge congratulations to our multi award winning movie maker, Mikey ( 6th Class, Boland) who was presented with the highly prestigious second place award at the Fresh International Film Festival Irish Young Filmmaker of the Year awards in the Omniplex Cinemas

What a great day it was last Wednesday for all of our young filmmakers. Pupils, past and present, gathered at the Omniplex Cinemas for the Fresh International Film Festival Irish Young Filmmaker of the Year 2024 and to see the movies they created on the big screen.

Rooms 17 & 9 were delighted to hand over the procceds of their Lenten Collection to Fr Richie last week in support of Trócaire. Hopefully, this money will help children just like our children in Scoil Íde but not as fortunate in the lottery of life.

3rd class are learning all about Ancient Egypt this month. Room 18 learned about the process of mummification and they began mummifying tomatoes this afternoon.

Now that the rain has eased we can start to appreciate the season and all the colour it brings around the school grounds. @oidePR

Today we hosted friends from 12 Munster schools for a Comórtas Fichille. Phenomenal chess talent and sportsmanship on display as the teams battled it out to the end. Well done to all schools involved and see you again next year! Ficheall.ie

Liam McCarthy first visted Scoil Íde in 1974 after they won the All Ireland in September '73. Fifty years later, we welcomed Liam back for the 5th time in 6 years. What an achievement by Limerick GAA . Thanks to our local club St Patrick's GAA and Paul Anglim for organising. 🟢⚪️
