6AM UPDATE: Rain and thunderstorms are over North Alabama this morning with small hail in spots, but they are under severe limits and we have managed to go through "round one" with few problems. We have heard of no damage; hail has been the only real issue. Storms will continue

920 pm: The Haw River in Alamance and Chatham Counties continues to rise. For the Haw River Near Bynum, the forecast flooding on the river increased to Major severity and at Haw River, the forecast flooding increased to Moderate severity. More info: weather.gov/rah/rivers

🚨A rapidly evolving situation with Haw River still rising quickly. A new forecast has been issued with a new crest at 31.9 ft. If this occurs it will be the 2nd highest crest at this gauge. The record crest is 32.83 ft back in September 1996 from Hurricane Fran. #NCwx

At least 14 children have died from heatstroke in hot cars so far in 2025, and historically the majority of child hot car deaths occur in July. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants to remind people that no child should ever be left in a vehicle.
