Educators...You CANNOT strategize your way into cultural relevance. You must do the real work of getting to KNOW as many aspects of your students' identities as possible so you'll know what IS relevant to them. Authentic cultural relevance REQUIRES deep relationships.

The best PD I’ve been in or given has put teachers as students before they reflect as teachers, then time to practice and reflect some more! Never and one-and-done... so true

Great idea!!!

Now is the time to really explore what worked to deepen understanding, aid in sense making, or facilitate communication and collaboration…and what was a just a Band-Aid that needs to be ripped off and thrown away! Just because it “worked” doesn’t mean it has to stay!

We can do better! All students deserve these types of opportunities, and those who need them most are left behind. We can do better!
