Told 'not to kiss' his partner as it wouldn't be 'a safe thing to do'. Ted's partner was abused in a care home because of his sexuality - as we reveal a report finding hundreds of cases of elderly people experiencing homophobic or transphobic attacks in care settings

CALL TO ACTION at #MadStudies tonight! #EndFundingAboutUsWithoutUs. We lead, 'allies' follow. Why do funders keep giving directly to non Lived-Experience led organisations? How do we change this? Come & be part of the conversation, change, plans, action. pinkskythinking.com/so/7fOcoGP8y?l…

New paper put together by @DrEppie_Rose with whole team trying to be truthful about how we worked together on our NIHR School for Social Care Research funded research. Genuinely improved by great reviewer comments. NIHR Involvement researchinvolvement.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

Paper includes: inaccessibility of ethics panels; what happens when academic researchers and self-advocate researchers disagree - how does power work; problems with the "fund and forget" model of partnership working (drawing on Éidín Ní Shé ) Might you RT NIHR Involvement please?

Avoidable harm, such as unjustified discharge from social care services, appears to be a widespread experience across service users. Recent review by Dr Sarah Carr and colleagues. Important reading for anyone involved in mental health social care: nationalelfservice.net/?p=175617

Great NHS England Digital Technologies conference today. Fab presentations from Dr Sarah Carr Geoff Brennan Alexis Quinn Unbroken Stop Oxevision . Vital discussions questioning the ethics of current digital tech models in acute care - but WHY are we only addressing these issues now?

Why do National Institute for Health and Care Research panels think that having a PhD and working in a University invalidate my lived experience? Why doesn't my 'involvement' count? Why am I considered 'professionalised'? I'm still in MH services. Do they understand what a Lived Experience Researcher is?
