Check out Scott's Scott Lee paper, in which we investigate the Au2MP2 series of materials, with 1D M chains. We found a new polymorph for M= Bi, which we relate to electronic origins and atomic packing frustrations. Now published in Chemistry of Materials pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Outdoor action! We love this photo of Marissa Weichman The Weichman Lab and Leslie Schoop Schoop Lab kayaking last week in Monterey Bay, where they were attending a meeting. Thanks for the photo!

Excited to share Joseph's Joseph Stiles final paper , where he looks into the mechanism behind the excellent performance of HxCrS2 in Na batteries. Now published in Chemistry of Materials. Also check out how remakably stable the crystalline/amorphous heterstructre is. pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…

Can’t believe I found out about this via twitter. I worked with him during my undergraduate, he was such a wonderful teacher. I will miss him. A big loss for all of us

The holidays came a little early for the Schoop Lab ! Just unboxed a new Ag source anode with accompanying graphite heater that can reach up to 950 C. Thanks to Michael at STOE for the install 🎁
