Today we celebrated the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics! We wrote sentences, counted sports equipment, and participated in different “Olympic” events. At the end, these learners earned Olympic medals! I am feeling so #MineolaProud 🏅🌟

To make Ss feel welcome & safe I am as open & approachable as possible. I insist on respect for one another so they can feel safe to participate, I use humor as much as I can & I always model everything for them. How can Ss speak freely if they don’t see me doing it!#pd4uandme

World Mental Health Day Youth Conference Northwell Health #WorldMentalHealthDay2024

Huge shout out to Kristen Knipfing for joining us today to give us a lesson on AACs. Our class has been spending a lot of time with friends who communicate in different ways and today was an awesome opportunity for us to learn more about it! 🧠

We have taken off into space and our first stop is the moon! We made foil printed moons and homemade moon sand. Check out the craters in the 3rd picture and “Neil Armstrongs footprints” in the 4th! 🌕
